TicCoach Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 15, 2026

TicCoach ("we," "the app") is built to help kids, teens, and adults understand and manage tics. We designed it to collect as little as possible. This policy explains what data the app handles, how, and who it's shared with.

No account, no personal identifiers

TicCoach has no sign-in. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any identifier, and we do not assign you one. We show no ads and use no third-party advertising or analytics/tracking SDKs.

Data stored only on your device

Your profile (nickname, age range), tic logs, mood entries, practice history, streaks, and settings are stored locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to us and is not accessible to us. Deleting the app, or using "Erase my data," removes it.

AI features (optional, off by default)

TicCoach includes optional AI features (the "Coach" chat, "Build with TicCoach" suggestions, and an in-the-moment calming idea). These are disabled until you turn them on. The first time you open an AI feature, the app shows an "Enable AI Features" screen explaining this, and nothing is sent until you tap "Enable AI Features." You can turn AI off at any time in Settings → AI Features.

  • What we send: only the text you type into an AI feature (your chat message, or a short description of your tic/situation). We do not send your name, profile, tic logs, mood history, or device identifiers.
  • How: the text is sent over an encrypted connection to a serverless function we operate (hosted on Supabase), which forwards it to our AI provider.
  • Who it's shared with:Anthropic, PBC (the "Claude" AI service). Anthropic processes the text solely to generate a response and, under its commercial API terms, does not use data submitted via its API to train its models and retains it only as needed to provide the service. Anthropic provides protections equivalent to those described in this policy. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy: https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy
  • All uses: the text is used only to generate the AI suggestion or reply shown to you. We do not store it to identify you, sell it, use it for advertising, or use it for any other purpose.

Optional feedback

If you choose to send feedback ("Share an Idea"), the message you write is stored anonymously to help us improve the app. No identifiers are attached.

Children's privacy

TicCoach is designed for use by young people and is built to comply with children's privacy standards: it collects no personal information, requires no account, and contains no behavioral advertising or tracking.

Not medical advice

TicCoach is an educational self-management tool, not a medical device, and not a replacement for professional care.

Changes

We'll update this page and the "Last updated" date if this policy changes.
