Privacy Policy — TicCoach

The short version

✓ Your tic logs, mood entries, practice sessions, and profile are stored only on your device.

✓ We do not collect names, email addresses, location, contacts, or any personally identifying information.

✓ We do not sell any data to anyone, ever.

✓ We do not show ads and do not use advertising trackers.

✓ To delete all your data, simply delete the app.

What is stored on your device

All personal data in TicCoach is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure on-device storage. This includes:

— Your profile (first name or nickname, age range, CBIT status)
— Your tic list
— Tic occurrence logs
— Practice session records
— Mood journal entries
— Streaks and achievements
— Daily wins
— App preferences (theme, notifications)

None of this is transmitted to TicCoach servers, third-party analytics services, or any other external system.

Content from our servers

TicCoach downloads read-only educational content (articles, tips, quotes, motivational messages) from a secure content server. These requests are anonymous — they do not include any identifier tied to you or your device. This is similar to how a website delivers a news article: the server sends content, but does not log who you are.

Coach Tay (AI assistant)

Coach Tay is an AI assistant powered by large language model technology. When you send a message to Coach Tay, that message is transmitted to a third-party AI service to generate a response. Please be aware:

— Messages you type to Coach Tay are sent to an AI provider to generate responses.
— TicCoach does not store your chat history on our servers.
— We recommend not sharing full names, school names, or other identifying details in the chat.
— Coach Tay is a friendly educational guide, not a medical professional.

If you choose not to use Coach Tay, all other features of TicCoach work entirely offline and no messages are ever transmitted.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

TicCoach is designed to be used by children, including children under 13. We take this responsibility seriously.

— We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
— The app does not require account creation, email address, or any identifying information to function.
— All personal data (tic logs, moods, sessions) is stored exclusively on the child's device.
— Parents or guardians can delete all app data at any time by deleting the app from the device.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has submitted personal information to TicCoach in a way not described here, please contact us at support@ticcoach.app.

Notifications

TicCoach may send local push notifications (such as daily tips) if you grant permission. These notifications are scheduled locally on your device and do not require sending data to any server. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

Third-party services

TicCoach uses the following third-party services in limited ways:

Supabase

Used to deliver read-only educational content (articles, tips). Requests are anonymous. Supabase does not receive personal user data.

AI language model provider

Powers Coach Tay. User messages are transmitted to generate responses. TicCoach does not retain these messages on its servers. See the Coach Tay section above for guidance on what to share.

Data retention and deletion

Because your data lives on your device, you are always in control. To delete all TicCoach data, delete the app. There is nothing to request from us — we do not hold a copy of your information.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify users within the app. We will never make changes that reduce your privacy protections without clear notice.
