I built TicCoach because the kids I wanted to help reminded me of myself. Living with tics and OCD, I know what it feels like to want something small in your pocket that helps — without making you feel like a patient.

You're not alone. And neither is your kid.

It feels overwhelming.

Information is scattered, scary, or written for clinicians. You just want one calm place to start.

You can't tell what's working.

No simple way to track tics, triggers, or progress between specialist visits.

Kids feel different.

They don't want another therapy app. They want a tool that feels like theirs.

TicCoach gives your family one gentle home base.

Everything your family needs, in one calm app.

Ryan Benson, founder of TicCoach

Hi, I'm Ryan. I'm 17, and I have Tourette syndrome and OCD.

Growing up, there were times I felt less than the other kids — like the simple things weren't possible for me. School was hard. Focus was hard. Just feeling comfortable in my own skin was hard.

What changed things was learning that I could push back. That with the right tools and the right people, I could keep moving forward. I started volunteering with a charity called iPads4Autism, helping families set up devices for kids with autism and other needs. It blew me away how much a small device could change a kid's day.

I wanted to build something like that for kids like me.

TicCoach is the app I wish I'd had when I was younger — calm, kind, and made for actually being a kid. I'm working on it with my dad, who's a software developer, and with feedback from psychologists and families who live this every day. We're not trying to replace therapy. We're trying to make the rest of life feel a little easier.

TicCoach is built in partnership with clinicians, but it is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat any condition.

Inspired by CBIT — the gold standard for tics.

CBIT (Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics) is the most studied behavioral approach for tics. It's recommended by the American Academy of Neurology and the Tourette Association of America. TicCoach turns its core building blocks into bite-size, kid-friendly practice.
